Sandra's mother was Isla Pearl Chambers, born 29 December 1921 in Dragoon, Cochise County, Arizona. She died in Willcox, Cochise County, Arizona on 18 September 2007 at age 85 and is buried in the Riggs Family Cemetery. (2k)

Ellerbe and Pearl were married on 15 June 1939 in Lordsburg, Hidalgo County, New Mexico and had three children. Sandra was their first child, first daughter.
